Thanks again! Signing up to drive can be whatever level of commitment you are able to provide! What a morning or night will typically entail is:
Mornings, the driver will arrive at the shelter location at 6:30AM and pick up the key to their assigned vehicle from the lock box. They will then check in with the Night Shelter Managers on when to begin loading. Once the NSM ok's it, guests will load onto the vehicle. Once the van is full, the driver checks again with the NSM before transporting their passengers to Our Community Place. Due to the number of vehicles, compared to the number of guests, often times multiple trips are required. We recommend blocking out around an hour and a half for the shift.
Evening looks much the same, in reverse. The driver arrives at the shelter location, picks up the keys and drives to Our Community Place, the Night Shelter Manager overseeing check in will instruct when they are ready to load, and when it is ok to head to the shelter location.
Thank you for your consideration, and we appreciate your support of our community immensely.
